search_hcpcs_codes- Search the full HCPCS Level II code set by description or partial code. Handles plain language ("manual wheelchair", "oxygen concentrator"), CMS abbreviations ("o2", "serv") and misspellings. Returns ranked matches with their descriptions and page URLs.
get_hcpcs_code- Look up a single HCPCS Level II code and return everything CMS publishes for it: description, Medicare coverage status and what it means, pricing indicator, type of service, and code history.
search_hcpcs_modifiers- Search HCPCS modifiers by keyword or partial modifier. Use this for billing concepts like "discarded drug", "left side" or "medical necessity on file".
get_hcpcs_modifier- Look up a single HCPCS modifier by its two-character code and return its full description.
list_hcpcs_series- List the HCPCS Level II letter series (A through V) with what each one covers and how many codes it holds. Call this first to understand how the code set is organised, or pass a letter to list that series.
Things to ask once it is connected
- What is HCPCS E0601 and does Medicare cover it?
- Find the HCPCS codes for a manual wheelchair with elevating leg rests.
- Which modifier do I append when a drug is discarded?
- List the J-series codes for chemotherapy drugs.
Assistants are confident about HCPCS codes they have half-remembered, and the descriptions they invent look plausible. With this connected, the code, its Medicare coverage status and its pricing indicator come from the CMS release instead.
Other ways in
Prefer a file? The whole dataset is a one-click CSV or JSON download. Crawling instead? See llms.txt and llms-full.txt. Just need one code in a chat you are already having? Every code page has a ready-made prompt you can paste into any assistant.
The data is a billing reference drawn from the CMS HCPCS Level II release. Confirm coverage and payment rules with the payer before you bill, whatever an assistant tells you.
